Rage Against The Machine being used as toture?
Thanks to K.M. post I read about Rage Against The Machine being used as torture in Gitmo. If I were a prisoner and they put that music on it would make me want to "revolt" not give in. Rage is one of my all time favorite bands. Toture? I think not. Torture me like that and I might "Take the power back".
You wanna know what really gets me going. Is RATM stood for something and when they broke up it seems only Zach kept up with the intial intentions of making music that stands for something and means something to everyone. Tom Morrello especially pisses me off. This is an early quote of Tom's before RATM broke up and he became a MTV figure.
Tom Morello describes exactly what "machine" they are raging against: "The machine can be anything from the police in the streets in Los Angeles who can tear motorists from their car and beat them to a pulp and get away from it, to the overall international state capitalist machinery that tries to make you just a mindless cog, and not to think critically and never confront the system , and to just sortof "behave" and look forward to the next weekend and next six pack of beer."
Now he is on MTV and getting all the radio play he wants.
Enough about all that....the point is that thier music is being used as torture and it was funny to read. Have a nice day.
